Everyday our highly trained and committed staff members support people’s interests, goals, hopes and dreams as they work, shop, play, and volunteer throughout their communities while leading full, productive and contributing lives. Our individuals have memberships at the Y, go out for meals, attend concerts, go to the movies, partake in local activities, play bingo, handle their own banking, grocery shop and enjoy cultural events. More importantly, they willingly give back to their neighbors and their communities through volunteering at animal shelters and other organizations in Saratoga County. We feel that we are privileged to ensure that the care we provide increases immeasurably to the quality of life for every person we serve. Our philosophy is that every day is full of possibilities!
With this in mind, we have proudly fulfilled these lifelong aspirations:
◊ Madeline was able to learn how to scrapbook, knitted a baby blanket for her classroom Instructor and created handmade invitations for a fabulous picnic she hosted for the Everyday Heroes’ group.
◊ Sarah continues participating in the arts by taking classes, visiting galleries, entering art shows and attending openings.
◊ Matthew attended the Albany River Rats practice, met the players and was able to cook a pizza at Papa John’s.
◊ Billy went to the Richard Petty Driving School at the New Hampshire Speedway where he was able to ride in a Dodge NASCAR at 150 mph.
◊ Megan’s interest in books resulted in a new friendship with a local Librarian. She helps read books to their children’s group.
◊ Adam was able to meet with local firefighters and try on the firefighter suit. He is also set to ride in a firetruck, which is a lifelong dream coming true!
