Caroline Welles, the Instructor from Alpha 3 Day Program and her 2 Day Hab Assistants Maggie Klein Sutherland and Sally Chung, coordinated a very successful Luau party on Wednesday, July 30th at the Alpha Building. Full of theme-related activities, the event consisted of great decorations, Hawaiian music, the Limbo, Hula Hooping, Hula Dancing, Pin-the-Apple-on-the-Pig, Finding Seashells in the Sand and Hawaiian Bingo. In the Alfred Z. Solomon Media and Computer Lab, there was the opportunity to play ‘Lilo and Stitch’ or draw for anyone who was interested. Certainly, there was treats available including fruit punch with sherbet, pineapple upside-down cupcakes and other snacks.
One of the highlights of the day was awarding the Hawaiian King and Queen based on the best outfits. Steve R. was selected as King, Patti G. was chosen as Queen and they added another – Jeffery as the Prince. They received certificates and crowns in recognition of their new titles.
A good time was most definitely had by everyone!
